Jack the Giant Killer Movie Review

A young farmer joins a medieval princess on a journey to a distant convent. Along the way, they combat an evil wizard, dragons, sea monsters, and other mystical creatures, and are assisted by leprechauns, a dog, and a chimp. Generally considered a blatant rip-off of The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad – right down to the hiring of Nathan Juran, Kerwin Mathews, and Torin Thatcher – the film nonetheless delivers plenty of fun and excitement of its own. A young Jim Danforth of “Gumby” fame provided the stop-motion animation.
