Godzilla Vs. Monster Zero Movie Review

Novel Godzilla adventure with the big guy and Rodan in outer space! Suspicious denizens of Planet X (who wear some truly suspicious goggles) require the help of Godzilla and Rodan to rid themselves of “Monster Zero,” who's been menacing their world. Earth agrees to “lend” the Xians the monsters (they're transported through space in giant, levitating bubbles) and once on Planet X, we learn that “Monster Zero” is none other than Godzilla's old foe Ghidrah, the three-headed superdragon! Will Godzilla and Rodan defeat Ghidrah? Will the men from Planet X help Earth in return for the favor, or is this just one big, fat double cross? Despite the shaky logic of the plot, this direct sequel to Ghidrah the Three-Headed Monster remains one of the more entertaining entries in Toho's monster series. The addition of Nick Adams as the hipster astronaut (at the suggestion of producer Henry Saperstein) provides as much amusement from his daddy-o dialogue and manner as it does the intended Anglo identification. Released in the U.S. in 1970 on a twin bill with War of the Guargantuas. AKA: Monster Zero; Battle of the Astros; Invasion of the Astro-Monsters; Invasion of the Astros; Invasion of Planet X; Kaiju Daisenso.
