Godzilla on Monster Island Movie Review

Aliens from Nebula Spacehunter M conduct their nefarious schemes from the cover of Godzilla Tower in the World Children's Land amusement park. When they're discovered by an unemployed cartoonist and his friends, they summon the giant three-headed dragon Ghidrah (last seen taking a beating in Destroy All Monsters) and giant cyborg monster from space Gigan to destroy Earth civilization. Godzilla and Angilas slip past the laughable security of Monster Island to defend Japan from the invaders. Though perhaps not the very worst of the Godzilla series, this one's not a big favorite even among fans. The script is a disjointed mess and the special effects are either poorly executed, or lifted from other films. An embarrassing highlight comes when Godzilla and Angilas actually speak to each other – the original Japanese version wasn't much better, having the monsters’ growls translated within little cartoon speech balloons. AKA: Godzilla Vs. Gigan.
