David Spitz (Cage) is a weatherman in Chicago. Not really much of a movie in that fact alone. What makes this story move is that, as his Pulitzer Prize-winning father Robert (Caine) points out, he isn't a particularly good one. David's life seems to consistently point out to him the fact that he's not actually good at much at all. To illustrate the point, strangers on the street thank him for his rotten forecast with fast food showers. Just as Dave's life sinks to a new low, he is offered a prestigious position on a morning show in New York. Cage and Caine are excellent.
