Cleopatra Movie Review 1999

Lavishly trashy TV miniseries about the infamous Egyptian queen and her Roman lovers. Young royal, Cleopatra (Varela), wants to rule Egypt but she needs the power of Rome to make things happen. When Julius Caesar (Dalton) comes to Egypt, she seduces the conqueror to gain a kingdom. But after Caesar's murder, Cleopatra pins her hopes on rash Marc Antony (Zane) and things don't turn out so well. Based on the book by Margaret George.
