V: The Final Battle Movie Review

Followup to the popular miniseries V, centering on the intrigue among the human underground resistance fighting those man-eating lizards from outer space, who have effectively conquered humanity through economic and cultural imperialism more so than death rays. Unfortunately, the interplanetary intrigue leans heavily toward the prime-time soap operatics of Dynasty (complete with a Brit-accented space-bitch clone of Joan Collins). Climax – in which one character simply uses the Force or something to save the world – is so lame even the lowly paperback novelization didn't dare replicate it. While the Visitors are indeed driven off, they returned to further torment mankind, though not for very long, in a subsequent, short-lived TV series.
