Urusei Yatsura Movie 2: Beautiful Dreamer Movie Review

The second full-length film based on the popular Japanimation series. The perpetually unlucky teenager Ataru Moroboshi and his classmates at Tomobiki High School find themselves reliving the day before the School Festival over and over again. It's up to Ataru's alien girlfriend Lum to solve the puzzle, which involves a magician who specializes in dreams. Funny and surreal, and more complex than you'd think from the more slapstick TV series; the film contains some surprising references to classic science fiction like Planet of the Apes and Frankenstein. In Japanese with English subtitles, but don't let that stop you from checking this out. Great fun and beautifully animated.
