The Trouble with Dick Movie Review

There's plenty of trouble with this adolescent would-be comedy. An ambitious young science-fiction writer's personal troubles (which include being involved with several over-sexed women) begin to appear in his writing. Basically a genre-movie reworking of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, but nowhere near as charming as that description might suggest. The box cover displays a “Festival Winner” announcement, but don't be fooled! The story (what there is of it) gets very tedious after first five minutes. Former Partridge Family member Susan Dey appears as one of Dick's women.

1988 (R) 86m/C Tom Villard, Susan Dey; D: Gary Walkow; M: Roger Bourland. Sundance Film Festival ‘87: Grand Jury Prize. VHS, Beta ACA
