Return of Captain Invincible Movie Review

Beloved wartime superguy Captain Invincible was subpoenaed before a McCarthyite panel and blacklisted for wearing a red-colored cape and flying without a license. Now a U.S. president decides the country needs its hero again, and puts the now-derelict Legend in Leotards through alcohol rehab and superpower retraining. Australian spoof has great premise, let down too often by slipshod storytelling and weak f/x. Gains altitude with its outlandish musical numbers, some of them written by the Rocky Horror team of Richard Hartley and Richard O'Brien. A singing Christopher Lee plays archvillain Mr. Midnight with lordly gusto. AKA: Legend in Leotards.
