Night of the Comet Movie Review

After surviving the explosion of a deadly comet, two California girls discover that they are the last people on Earth. What do they do? Go shopping of course! When zombies and other nasty folks begin to chase them, things begin to lose their charm. Luckily, Daddy taught them how to shoot machine guns. Cute and funny, this is probably the most charming End of the World movie since Dr. Strangelove. Oddly, director Thom Eberhardt made award-winning documentaries about serious social issues before moving on to features, which have been mostly as light hearted as this one.

1984 (PG-13) 90m/C Catherine Mary Stewart, Kelli Maroney, Robert Beltran, Geoffrey Lewis, Mary Woronov, Sharon Farrell, Michael Bowen; D: Thom Eberhardt; W: Thom Eberhardt; C: Arthur Albert. VHS, Beta FOX
