Meteor Monster Movie Review

A young boy is hit by a meteor and grows up to be a raving, hair-covered maniac. His mom tries to keep him a secret, but has little success. One of those movies that feels like it was built purely around budget. Since Western sets and costumes were available, they made it a Western. Even though the “monster” is just a big ugly guy with mental problems, they threw in a meteor and sold it as science fiction, which was hot at the box office at the time. Director Jacques Marquette was better known as a cinematographer, notably for Corman's A Bucket of Blood. Probably the last leading role for Anne Gwynne, a familiar face in Universal horror films of the ‘40s. She was last seen in a small role in Adam at 6 A.M. (1970). AKA: Teenage Monster.

1957 73m/C Anne Gwynne, Stuart Wade, Gloria Castillo, Chuck Courtney; D: Jacques Marquette. VHS, Beta SNC
