Looker Movie Review

Models being digitized for computer-generated TV commercials are systematically murdered. Albert Finney (looking understandably confused) plays their Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, who investigates and discovers a subliminal-ad conspiracy. Though subject matter was ahead of its time, a half-baked plot by the normally reliable Michael Crichton ultimately makes no sense, and offers only mild distractions through semi-satirical potshots at the media, virtual reality, and mind control. Title refers to Light Ocular Oriented Kinetic Energetic Responsers. And some nude bimbos.

1981 (PG) 94m/C Albert Finney, James Coburn, Susan Dey, Leigh Taylor-Young, Dorian Harewood, Darryl Hickman; D: Michael Crichton; W: Michael Crichton; C: Paul Lohmann. VHS, Beta, LV WAR
