Island of Terror Movie Review

First-rate science-fiction chiller about a British island overrun by single-celled creatures with protective shells that suck the bones out of their living prey with slimy tentacles. Good performances and interesting twists make for prickles up the spine. Another British sci-fi feature in the tried and true tradition of the Quatermass series: a remote community is slowly overrun by a creeping terror from beyond, while a tough scientist is called in to battle it. Terence Fisher is much more well known for his Hammer horror films (Horror of Dracula, Curse of Frankenstein, The Mummy, etc.), but he also could deliver solid science fiction when called upon. AKA: Night of the Silicates; The Creepers.
