Highlander 2: The Quickening Movie Review

Even Christopher Lambert disowned this second chapter in the saga of Connor MacLeod, which tries retroactively to explain everything that happened in the first movie in a sci-fi context. Now we learn that immortals are political exiles from the planet Zeist, whose psycho tyrant (Michael Ironside), not satisfied to let MacLeod die old in the year 2024, sends flying porcupine men to Earth to restore the Highlander to youth so they can kill him…Huh? There's a sense the filmmakers were seriously drunk when they made this; in any case, Connery looks like he's having fun. Visual f/x are extremely iffy. A “Renegade Director's Cut” is available at 108 minutes. WOOF!
