Heartbeeps Movie Review

In a 1995 very different from what we experienced, two domestic robot-servants fall in love and run off together. This weird sf romance isn't without its charms, and Andy Kaufman and Bernadette Peters tackle their robotic parts gamely enough. Kids might well enjoy the funny voices and off-key humor. Most viewers, however, will think the film has a few loose screws too many. Director Alan Arkush also made the noted teen epic Rock ‘n’ Roll High School.
