Guyver 2: Dark Hero Movie Review

Director Steve Wang gets more bucks, an R rating, and just an overall more gutsy feel to this sequel also based on the popular Japanese comic books and anime. Both the Guyver and the ever-so-nasty evil mutant morphing Zoanoids are on location at the site of an archaeological dig where many alien secrets and weapons are ready to be used for good or evil, to save or destroy the world. This time around we are spared the talents of Jimmie Walker (Lisker in the first film) and get to see a much more graphic “suiting up” of the Guyver by his biologically imbedded alien armor. The sets are bigger, the rubber suits are better, and the violence juicier, making this far superior to the original. Should even be enjoyable to fans of the more highly regarded animated versions.
