Calderari's adventures include discovering the true source of the Amazon, filming piranahs in feeding frenzy, surviving the 1948 Orinoco expedition and being inducted into the Aguaruna Jivaro headhunter tribe. Calderari is also an outspoken environmentalist and conservationist.
