Engaging adaptation of E.M. Forster's novel of requited love. Lucy Honeychurch (Bonham Carter) is the feisty British idealist who rejects dashing George (Sands) for supercilious Cecil (Day-Lewis), then repents and finds (presumably) eternal passion. A multi-Oscar nominee, with great music (courtesy of Puccini), great scenery (courtesy of Florence), and great performances (courtesy of practically everybody, but supporters Smith, Dench, Callow, and Elliott must be particularly distinguished). Truly romantic, and there's much humor too.
