Cab Calloway and His Orchestra Movie Review 1986

Calloway, the King of Hi-De-Ho, is featured with his band in this compilation of vintage films. The tape begins with an excerpt from the 1935 short, "Jitterbug Party" and the "Mama, I Wanna Make Rhythm" number from the 1937 feature film, "Manhattan Merry-Go-Round." Next are four 1942 Soundies, "Blues in the Night," "Minnie the Moocher," "Virginia, Georgia and Caroline" and "The Skunk Song." The program concludes with several 1950 telescriptions, "I Can't Give You Anything But Love," "Minnie the Moocher" and "St. James Infirmary."
