Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears Movie Review 1980

Three provincial girls--Lyuda (Muravyova), Tonya (Ryazanova), and Katya (Alentova)--realize very different fates when they pursue their dreams in 1958 Moscow. The film picks up 20 years later to see what became of the women. Bittersweet, moving fare that seems a somewhat surprising production from pre-Glasnost USSR. In Russian with English subtitles. A 150-minute version has also been released.
