One of the best Hollywood westerns ever made, this recounts the precise events leading up to and including the gunfight at the O.K. Corral. Fonda's the lawman, with Bond, Holt, and Garner as his brothers, and Mature co-stars as best friend, Doc Holliday. Schoolteacher Clementine (Downs) is Earp's gal, but the real revelation should be Brennan as old man Clanton--he's chilling not folksy. Ford allegedly knew Wyatt Earp and used his stories to recount the details vividly, though not always accurately. Remake of 1939's "Frontier Marshal."
