Black humor cult classic, based on the H.P. Lovecraft story "Herbert West, The Re-Animator." Med student Herbert West (Combs) is determined to make a medical breakthrough by bringing the dead back to life. His experimental green goo is finally successful on a corpse from the med school morgue but, as usual, any resurrected cadaver becomes difficult to control. Grisly if somewhat self-conscious but there's an unforgettable sex scene invovling a lustful severed head and heroine Megan (Crampton). Followed by "Bride of Re-Animator."
