Winchester '73 Movie Review 1950

Superb acting and photography characterize this classic, landmark western. Simple plot--cowboy Stewart pursues his stolen state-of-the-art rifle as it changes hands--speeds along and carries the viewer with it, ending with an engrossing and unforgettable shoot-out. Almost singlehandedly breathed new life into the whole genre. Laser videodisc version contains a special narration track provided by Stewart. Mann's and Stewart's first teaming.
