Roberta (Arquette) is a bored New Jersey housewife who gets her kicks reading the personals. When she becomes obsessed with a relationship between two lovers who arrange their meetings through the columns, Roberta decides to find out for herself who they are. But after an accident, Robert loses her memory and thinks she is Susan, the free-spirited woman in the personals. Unfortunately, Susan (Madonna) is in a lot of trouble with all sorts of unsavory folk and our innocent housewife finds herself caught in the middle. Terrific characters, with special appeal generated by Arquette and Madonna. Quinn winningly plays Roberta's bewildered romantic interest, Dez.
