Green Pastures Movie Review 1936

An adaptation of Marc Connelly's 1930 Pulitzer Prize-winning play, which attempts to retell Biblical stories in black English vernacular of the '30s. Southern theatre owners boycotted the controversial film which had an all-Black cast.
