Summer Wishes, Winter Dreams Movie Review 1973

Woodward and Balsam are a materially prosperous middle-aged couple with little but tedium in their lives--a tedium accurately replicated, in what feels like real life, in this slow, dull film. The two leads and Sidney--in her first screen role in 17 years--are all excellent, but the story of regret and present unhappiness wears the viewer down.
