In the spring of 1980, a young man who had lost his right leg to cancer dipped his artificial limb into the Atlantic Ocean and set off on a fund-raising "Marathon of Hope" across Canada, drawing national attention. Inspiring true story is well-scripted and avoids corniness. Good acting from real-life amputee Fryer and, as usual, from Duvall.
