Drama about the relationship between a naive Texan hustler and a seedy derelict, set in the underbelly of NYC. Graphic and emotional character study is brilliantly acted and engaging. Shocking and considered quite risque at the time of its release, this film now carries an "R" rating. It was the only "X"-rated film ever ever to win the Best Picture Oscar. From James Leo Herlihy's novel.
