Focuses on Australian Neil Davis, a news-cameraman who spent 11 years in the combat zone. His close-up footage combined with his recollections are a testimony to the horrors of war. He spent much time with the Vietnamese troops, and shows a little seen side of the war: Asians suffering at the hands of other Asians. He was permitted to cross enemy lines and was the only Western journalist to film the fall of Saigon. Highlighted by scenes of the irony of the war: Nixon announcing the war is over while Davis is being bombed in a rice paddy; American soldiers revealing their confusion when asked why they are fighting in Asia; and Cambodian boy-solidiers going fishing during a lull in the fighting.
