Sweet Solutions Movie Review 1980

A look at how sugar can be substituted for nonrenewable sources of energy. Distilling alcohol from sugar beets and cane to fuel cars, as is being done in Brazil, will reduce dependence on oil. Scientists are developing fire-proof polyurethan foam, a male infertility pill, and a sweeter sugar substitute-all from sugar, the renewable source. Part of the "Nova" series.
