Simon of the Desert Movie Review 1966

Not Bunuel's very best, but worthy of the master satirist. An ascetic stands on a pillar in the desert for several decades--closer to God, farther from temptation. Pinal is a gorgeous devil that tempts Simon. Hilarious, irreverent, sophisticated. What's with the weird ending, though? In Spanish with English subtitles.
