Victoria (Andrews), an unsuccessful actress in Depression-era Paris, impersonates a man impersonating a woman and becomes a star. Luscious music and sets. Warren as confused showgirl Norma, and Preston as Andrews' gay mentor Toddy are right on target; Garner is charming as gangster King Marchan, who falls for the woman he thinks she is, with Karras amusing as his bodyguard with a secret, Squash.
