Marva Collins, a teacher who resigned after becoming disillusioned with the school system, started her own school in a low income area of Chicago. Students are drilled in vocabulary and multiplication tables, and they are required to read one book every two weeks. Marva's educational philosophy is that if students are to make it in the business world, they have to be able to speak standard English.
