The creation of a protein is followed from the formation of the peptide bonds through the folding of the polypeptide. The details of the step-by-step formations of a dipeptide, (glycyl-glycine) are shown. The difference between random coils of polypeptide chains and helices is illustrated. The enormous amount of possible configurations of polypeptide chains in proteins is emphasized by showing dihedral angle rotation. Finally the three-dimensional structure of two proteins shows the location of active sides, alpha helical sections, and pleated sheets.
