E.F. Schumacher . . . As if People Mattered Movie Review 1979

This program was made in Montana, a resource-rich western state experiencing the full effects of America's energy addiction. Schumacher describes what he terms "internal colonization" as being the development of parts of countries, not for their own sake but to serve the needs of large commercial and industrial centers. The result of this behavior is a top-heavy economic set for collapse once the resource is spent and a diminishing rural population resentful of the destruction of the landscape.
