Potatoes Movie Review 1977

"Potatoes" is a close-up look at potato-growers in North America. For them one year bad can ruin a farmer because of his huge investment in machinery. With the market situation at present, agribusiness seems very promising, for it can contract for the whole potato crop; process, transport, and market them; sell farm machinery; buy up the land when farmers fall in debt; and bulldoze vacated housing. This type of corporation can halt the plight of the family farmer.
