The landmark cheapie classic, which Roger Corman reputedly filmed in three days, about a nebbish working in a city florist shop who unknowingly cultivates an intelligent plant that demands human meat for sustenance. Notable for then-unknown Nicholson's appearance as a masochistic dental patient. Hilarious, unpretentious farce--if you liked this one, check out Corman's "Bucket of Blood" for more of the same. Inspired a musical of the same name; remade as a movie again in 1986. Available colorized.
