Heaven Can Wait Movie Review 1978

A remake of 1941's "Here Comes Mr. Jordan." L.A. Rams quarterback Joe Pendleton (Beatty) is summoned to heaven before his time. When archangel Mr. Jordan (Mason) realizes the mistake, Joe is returned to Earth but it's in the body of a wealthy industrialist who's about to be murdered by his unfaithful wife Julia (Cannon) and his nervous secretary, Tony (Grodin). But Joe is about to let a little thing like murder prevent him from playing in the Super Bowl--new body or not. Christie's the new love interest; Warden's the gruff coach. Not to be confused with the 1943 film of the same name.
