After the White Sox captured the opening game 11-0, the Dodgers, with fine relief pitching by Larry Sherry and steady hitting by Gil Hodges, beat Chicago in six games. Their old Brooklyn fans saw a collection of familiar faces and few new kids playing on a team that now belonged to the West Coast.
