We meet the Ewing clan of Southfork ranch and Ewing Oil: patriarch Jock and his wife Miss Ellie, unscrupulous eldest son J.R. and his unhappy wife Sue Ellen, younger son Bobby and his bride Pamela, and granddaughter Lucy. There's also ranch foreman Ray and Cliff Barnes, Pam's brother, who's determined to ruin the Ewings after Jock forced out his father Digger Barnes from their partnership, leaving the Barnes family poor while the Ewings got rich. 29 episodes.
