Unveiled Movie Review 2005

Translator Fariba (Tabatabai) is persecuted in Iran because she's a lesbian. She flees the country and takes the identity of male refugee Siamak (Akhavan), who commits suicide before learning that he has been granted temporary asylum in Germany. Passing herself off as a young man, Fariba gets a job in a factory where she meets Anne (Sarnau,) who seemingly never realizes that the male she is infatuated with is actually a woman. But then Fariba's ruse begins to unravel. Farsi and German with subtitles.
