Eva Mozes Kor and her twin sister Miriam were among those used in experiments by Dr. Josef Mengele in the Auschwitz death camp. Both survived and were eventually freed by the Russian Army. Years after Eva moved to the U.S., she continued to suffer from nightmares. After Miriam's death in 1993, Eva decided to find peace by publicly declaring her personal forgiveness of Mengele, which has made her a controversial figure among Holocaust survivors.
