Brutal Aussie western set in the outback in the 1880s. Capt. Stanley (Winstone) is obsessed with bringing law to his patch of dirt, which means getting rid of the Burns brothers and their gang. He gets a break when he captures Charlie Burns (Pearce) and his younger brother, Mikey (Wilson). Stanley offers Charlie a devil's bargain--he will spare both brothers if Charlie will track and kill vicious older brother Arthur (a poetically psychotic Huston). Charlie has no choice but to agree but all that can be expected is more violence, blood, and death.
