Troubled Heidi (Cornish) is a luscious, 16-year-old blonde testing her sexuality on her mother's boyfriend, which gets her kicked out of the house. She travels to the ski resort town of Jindabyne, where she casually trades sex for a place to stay. Eventually Heidi lands a job at a convenience store and persuades motel owner Irene (Curran) to rent her a room. She also finds sparks with 20-something Joe (Worthington), the son of a wealthy local farmer, but he's got problems too, and her neediness frightens him off. Debut feature for Shortland skimps on the character details but Cornish is a real heartbreaker.
