Visually arresting but nonsensical adaptation of a videogame. Rose (Mitchell) and husband Christopher (a wasted Bean) find their young daughter Sharon (Ferland) sleepwalking, muttering about "Silent Hill." Rose researches the name and learns it's a West Virginia mining community that's been deserted since 1974 due to a devastating fire. Nevertheless, Rose grabs Sharon and heads for the town, only to become lost in some alternate existence where she runs around looking for the vanished Sharon and encounters various ghostly freaks, creepy religious fanatics, and a helpful motorcycle cop named Cybil (Holden).
