Veteran Secret Service agent Pete Garrison (Douglas) is in charge of guarding first lady Sarah Ballentine (Basinger), which is really convenient since they're having an affair. It's bad news though when Garrison gets blackmailed and learns that a presidential assassination is planned. Accused of treason and on the run, Garrison is pursued by his former protege-turned-enemy David Breckinridge (a grim Sutherland). Longoria provides supporting eye candy as rookie agent Jill Marin. Much like Harrison Ford, Douglas excels as a strong (ageless) man who can overcome any crisis and take on all his (younger) adversaries.
