Kinky Boots Movie Review 2006

Title says it all in this slight Brit comedy that's based on a true story. Charlie Price (Edgerton) reluctantly takes over the failing family shoe factory after his dad dies. They need a specialty product to save the day, and Charlie receives unexpected inspiration when he comes to the aid of big black drag queen Lola (a sweet Ejiofor), who bemoans that the average stiletto wasn't made to support someone of his size. With Lola offering expertise, Charlie and his workers find their new market in cross-dressers. A big fashion show finale adds to the feel-good fantasy.
