Based on the true events of a 1956 missionary trip during which five Americans were speared to death by the very Ecuadorian tribesmen they were seeking to convert. Unfortunately, studio production values coat the jungle and its visitors with a big bottle of syrup. To its credit, it at least tries to develop the tribesmen into something more than savages. Anyone looking for something more than an overt martyrs' tale will be disappointed.
