Unnecessary remake of Wes Craven's 1977 lunatic-fest. Not much has been altered in way of the storyline--family stranded in the desert with a pack of inbred killers on their tail, but this time around there's an actual budget. Most of it's blown on fake blood. Slick and humorless, desperate to cash in on the (hopefully) short-lived sadism genre resurrected by Rob Zombie. Thanks, Rob.
