Documentary traces the five days prior to the killing of University of Munich students Sophie Scholl (Jentsch) and her brother Hans (Hinrichs) in 1943 by German Nazis for their rebellious behavior in distributing anti-war literature at the school. Powerful interrogation scenes between Sophie and General Alexander Held (Mohr), as her quiet determination affects the general. Whatever empathy he feels can't change her inevitable fate.
